Koang Blog

12/July/2026 Hi there, and welcome to Koang's weekend Blog. Today, I noticed a couple of things that are strange. I had been trying to select a watch to wear as a daily, and realized that none of my pieces made me truly happy. From the most expensive to the least.

The irony of my eventual choice was that it is a very well-made plastic watch from Q&Q. The dive bezel's tolerances are so tight it's flush with the case, good positive clicking, and there are drilled lugs and a signed crown, a SmileSolar movement housed in a monocoque shell. All these features in a Seiko would cost say $500 but instead this one cost me just $60. I paired it with a used G-LIDE strap.

Curious, I set about comparing my cheap and expensive things and found that my XX-100 Nerf Rival blaster was more treasured than my Mission Matthews compound bow. 90x cheaper. My favorite mechanical pencil, a Shalaku, costs less than a buck and my art pen of choice, Uni-ball Air Micro, costs 6RM+ and is far more expressive than a 140RM Rotring Isograph. The Bible I read from is an NLT bought used from BFBW, just $4.

God notices

I also found that all the best work I did, I gave away for free. And I remembered Jesus' teaching -the Lord will provide for us just as the flowers of the fields He clothes in their colors and fragrance. So I gave away the best and only novel I ever wrote, Superderek Underpants. I gave away a brilliant strategy game, SeTT, and I draw a free Christian comic strip on KoangDeLambe.com, which I pay for, and am not paid back.

Currently, I am half retired. My last labor being net4spice (n4s), an electronic circuit simulator front end to PySpice / NgSpice. After that, I will just draw comics bi-weekly. It only takes less than half an hour. Years ago, I read a prediction that I would subsist on handouts. Jesus subsisted on handouts too.

The straightforward Olivet discourse

Jesus laid down 3 sequential markers, by which I mean; certainties comparable against our time (the end times), and the described events he related so long ago. The _DECEPTION_ starts first, then comes pangs of _GUILT_ -calling on God, then the _IDOL of the LOST_. The deception is that salvation is supernatural / internal perfection / a gift of God (don't call me heretical yet) -indeed the 'mark of Christ' can be 666, the 'mark of the Beast', which is 'theomorphism'. The guilt pangs are when people discover God and Jesus are real, and had rejected them. Finally, instead of the ark in the temple, there is an idol of sorrow / abandonment set up, maybe televised from within an enclosed space, bent on controlling God's people.

I guess that's all for this week.
