Designed a Bow
25/August/2026 I have a passion for compound bows and own a Mission Matthrews Hype DT. The trouble with compounds is that they're heavy and hard to maintain yourself (DIY). Moreso sights and rests of good quality are expensive. The design I came up with reduces riser weight and height by about 25%, while reducing cam complexity significantly. It also reduces the need for a cable guide, slide, and can use cheaper cables, less washers, nuts, etc. In fact, it could be shipped, self-assembled, and fine-tuned at home.
Draw length can be adjusted via the forward-jutting grip which can slide in and out. The X-configuration of the cables is not held to a side but the slight angle of the arrow shaft is compensated by the forward-mounted sight-rest, keeping things simple and maintainable. By design, the tension in the bowstring is less, as the expanding limbs (versus compressing limbs), provide more power over shorter deformation. All cables and strings can thus be user-serviced and there is no need for cladding as the cams are not wound round.
The sight-rest is configurable to arrow weight. A bottom screw levels the arrow, whatever its grain, and internal gears configure an outer spring which holds the sight pin. As the arrow is lifted (by lifting the riser), the sight pin drops according to internal settings, perhaps set by a 2 push buttons. In order to counter the rear displacement of the arrow shaft (against the X cables), the top of the rest-sight rotates by a user-set degree and timing.
The limbs are specially constructed for expansion. To even out force on the limb, it is made with a wave pattern profile. Because we use expansion, there is no need to compress the limbs, just to layer them evenly, so they may be cheaper to produce.In order to save weight, parts of the riser / grip may be made from recycled plastic X inserts. The cams themselves may be made from plastic surrounding a stamped steel core.
At the Mall
Was at the mall for lunch. Made plans to reduce or stop the Liew witch threat in the mindspaces. We will meet circa dinner time tonight, meanwhile are hiding and protecting one another. Rumors of a new Mac Mini to be unveiled later this week. Apple had always promised that there would be a low cost Mac for its customers / fans. I might just bite.
Turns out the Mini is now turbocharged for AI -that was the big announcement. There are some units for sale, M1, on 3cat but I'm not sure I want one. Maybe just stick with my old setup(s). Sara was worried over her novella's uptake. I suppose everyone is, who's not backed by a strong marketing campaign or critically acclaimed in a serious magazine, whose story isn't 'noteworthy'. Myself have sold no books so I donated a copy to BFBW, hoping to start something rolling. Don't feel like coding much, just want to write something new.
A New Novel
I'm writing again, what can only be my final book. I am really reluctant to go for one more, but there is some down time, and Liew witchy oppression so why not flesh out some of my old stories? I will be writing 'Secrets of the Dimension Masters', to finish in October. It will probably be 200 or so pages and I will try to query with its MS. Should be interesting and fun. No pressure. Meanwhile coding progresses. It's getting better but the node values are still wrong. Maybe take a break till after dinner.
Node values may be wrong becuase of i/o inconsistencies in the circuit. It's almost 2am and time for my workout. Wrote 1k words of my novel, project SDM. Will try to do 1k words every day. Brushed and took my meds. There seems to be some Christian perparations taking place and using up my time. I don't really mind.
It's 1am and I have to work out in half an hour. Took my meds and brushed, showered. Been a couch potato all day. Workout went well and I reclaimed all my joints, seemingly stuffed full of others, hiding from the witchy Liew 6. Woke up to more witchcraft and nerve warfare. Am thinking of buying a used M1 Mac Mini for 1.1kRM but realize that I don't need another computer, having a netbook and workhorse ThinkPad (used) along with a good used NEC LCD display. Will be heading to 3cat later, just check out what's available.
There was a lot of trouble in mindspace so I had to stay home. Planning on running soon instead, maybe circa 8pm. Trying to install Windows 11 in the form of a less bloated Tiny11. Hopefully it will allow Rufus / OTG via my eSSD. Helped make dinner. Noodles, mince pork, and choysum. Looking forward to my run. Will not go too fast this time. Watched several videos on the Macbook Neo. Managed to run okay. One of my knees is sore because of the folks and the other leg, a little weak due to friends who were attacked housing in me. Anyways I got a good workout and will be running this time tomorrow as well.
Worked out briefly and am feeling good at circa 5am. Not much sleepy yet. Talked bows with some mind denizens. Talked about the dynamic between men and women as the cause of the witch gaining power so easily, among other ways as well. Status, money, promises, blackmail -the list goes on what the Liew 6 did. 12 hours to finish running Tiny11's ISO generator. Hope it works. Wrote a song, just a simple one with 4 to 5 chords about being away from one's love.
Tiny11 (Windows)
I figured out how to work the Tiny11 installer and am now loading it onto my eSSD. The ISO generated by the script sort of expands to fill the media -the installation is put into the same disk as the media which I thought just contained the installer. On The Go (otg) seems to work fine. The whole process took many hours, perhaps due to the lower spec of my netbook. Had a roti telur for breakfast and managed to get cleaned well. Nowhere to go as today is chores day beginning in 2 hours. Folks are out.
Installed Brave browser on Tiny11. Works well. Am seeing a circa 3.5 GB RAM usage with one tab open. I guess that's okay. So I now have both Linux and Windows running smoothly. Transcend eSSD; no more slow, churning laptop HD. Tonight, we'll be having naan bread for dinner as Mom said she wanted a change from the usual fried noodles. There were more telepathic exchanges, people deeply offended and others deeply emotional who reached out. I can't stress enough, the importance of politeness and self-control.
Talked about personal signs of the end times and we analyzed the seals and trumpets of Revelations. There seem to be signs of the 4 riders in my room stuff as well as indications of Chinese involvement in God's prophecy. Many do not want it revealed just yet. So I do not write it down. God is subtle. I also installed Waveform by Tracktion on the Tiny11 PC. It runs great with over 4 tracks. Also hooked up there is my Keystation Mini. Coming up to 1am when I work out. Having my desk / table clear of unnecessary equipment makes writing more pleasurable.
Worked out and am feeling limber and refreshed. Finally somebody downloaded SeTT, after a whole month dry. I told them they can disassemble it as it is open source, even make a buck off it. There is nothing better than to become viral and this game can become viral. I played against myself and was astonished -we drew 28-28.
